Look who I met up with in NYC last weekend!
Why, if it isn’t Lauren McFall and Anna Kozlova from the 2004 US Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team!!!

Why, if it isn’t Lauren McFall and Anna Kozlova from the 2004 US Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team!!!

That’s right. You heard me correctly.
As a part of their summer kick-off, TLC has set up a big water tank in the middle of Rock Center! Swing by anytime between 11am and 7pm to see Sync or Swim’s Lauren McFall and other friends of ours as they show off their synchro skills live and in person. The tourists in midtown will surely get a treat today!!
It’s almost like the “live” version of TLC’s great promos which feature sychro swimmers (great idea, TLC).

So if you go watch some synchro and take some pictures of the spectacle, send them our way and we’ll post them on the blog!

Yup, that’s Sync or Swim’s Lauren McFall and I having some photo booth fun after our Anthology Film Archives screening earlier this week.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to the screening. We had a blast!

3 years agoNYC’s first synchronized-swimming program, is profiled in today’s NY Daily News. Gotham Synchro, was founded by Coach Rowena Dale Mohammed in 2006 and offers classes and competitive teams in the NYC area. So if you’ve seen Sync or Swim and you’ve been itching to try out some moves of your own, now’s your chance.

Four years ago today, the NYC-based Improv Everywhere took to Washington Square Park posing as The New York Synchronized Swimming Team at the Olympic Trials, hoping to compete in the Athens Games. The 16 swimmers wore matching goggles and caps and presented their choreographed routine to a crowd of amused and confused onlookers. Check out the photos and video below of the aquatic spectacle. That’s funny, I don’t remember seeing them at the competition in Greece.
Need to see it for yourself? Let’s go to the video “tape.”
BTW, if you want more Improv Everwhere check out this amazing “Mission.”
